As an award winning and a certified information technology firm, we have a highly qualified staff prepared to assist your needs. Our services include IT facility operation and maintenance, IT systems development services, IT systems analysis services, automated information systems design and integration services, and programming services.
Network System Engineering and Analysis: Analyze the business requirements and design the infrastructure for business solutions based on Microsoft Windows or other requested platforms. Applications enabled on your network can include multimedia office automation, on-line documentation and libraries, desktop and video conferencing, computer-based training, web portals, workgroup solutions, and other e-commerce solutions.
System Configuration/Implementation: We provide products and services for mission critical local and wide area network implementations and ongoing operations. Services include high bandwidth connectivity, server set-up, and all Windows services such as Exchange, Outlook, Backup, Domain Controllers, Win2K Server and Desktop, etc.
System Administration: Administration responsibilities include network management, account management, data backup and archival services, web-site management, messaging and collaboration systems, integration of legacy systems, remote diagnostics, and PC systems management (including help desk support). Purchasing and procurement support can also be provided.
Database Administration: In addition to our strong database design and development capabilities, we offer database tuning and administration for all of the large relational systems including Oracle, Informix, IBM DB2, Sybase and MS SQL Server.
Information Technology Facility Operations and Maintenance

SEI/CMM Assessment at Level 3: ORION maintains a program of continuous process improvement across the spectrum of its activities and business processes in accordance with the precepts of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Criteria and the Key Practice Areas (KPAs) of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM). In April of 2000, ORION was independently assessed at Level 3 of 5 by an SEI certified organization. Currently less than 20% of all companies assessed achieve a Level 3 or higher assessments.
What SEI/CMM Level 3 Means to our Customers: Assessment of a contractor at SEI CMM Level 3 assures you of mature, institutionalized software engineering and project management practices from that contractor. Information Technology Systems Development Services
Requirements Management: Extend business models to full realization of problem stakeholder needs, dependencies, system definition, and scope of system, priorities, and management of changing requirements establish and manage configuration process.
Analysis: Define system architecture. Refine system architecture to include run-time architecture, data distribution, design mechanisms, and interface requirements
Automated Information Systems Design and Integration Services

Program Manager
Minimum/General Experience: 12 years minimum general experience.
Demonstrated ability to manage the development and production of large digital computer controlled systems (DCCS). Experienced in DCCS design, development, production (hardware, software, and interface), testing (both developmental and system level), implementation, operation, maintenance and evolution. Effective leader of efforts encompassing large staffs made up of specialty and line managers, senior technical personnel, clerical staff, and technicians. Knowledge of the use of contemporary project management tools and command of the core principles of effective DCCS development and production management, including effective delegation, ownership, responsibility development, quality assurance, and metrics.
Functional Responsibility: Responsible for formulating and enforcing work standards, assigning schedules, reviewing work discrepancies, supervising personnel and communicating policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to subordinates. Schedules and allocates work, provides advice, guidance, and training to subordinates, and recommends or determines personnel actions. Responsible for program planning, execution, and performance. Manages substantial program/technical support operations involving multiple project/task orders and personnel at diverse locations.

Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of digital computer controlled systems, and supporting sciences and disciplines. Must optimize computer resources needed in solving problems, estimate manpower requirements and schedules, estimate execution times, and to postulate and evaluate alternate solution algorithms. Engineer/Software Engineer
Minimum/General Experience: 4-8 Years
Functional Responsibility: Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position or equivalent graduate level education. Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment. Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Functional Responsibility: This is the entry level for professional work. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Functional Responsibility: Performs high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex application that require a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills. Directs and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance, independent verification and validation (IV&V), phases and developmental testing and evaluation (DT&E). Applies higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solutions.
