Facilities Management and
Facilities Planning are complex disciplines involving many organizations both
inside and outside of the facility. A
facility is frequently not composed of a single structure; rather it can
involve multiple buildings or properties across a vast geographic area housing
hundreds or thousands of people.
Facilities are dynamic. They are
in a constant state of change forever evolving to meet the business needs of
the institution.
The life of a facility can be expressed as a series of
inter-related services, services that respond to triggers generated by business
and organizational change within the institution. By understanding and improving each service and by recognizing
and understanding the relationships of these services one to another, we can
positively affect both the quality of the facility and the bottom line of the
institution.
Little & Associates understands these facts, and has built a facilities management and planning services division in FM Strategies to focus on providing Facilities Life Cycle Services to its clients, connecting traditional architectural services directly to the day-to-day management activities of the organization. We have found, working directly with our clients, that through aggressive business process management and attention to operating services we can make a definite and visible difference for our clients.
With the backing of a powerful partnership of strategic planners, real estate advisors, architects, engineers, facility managers and computer technology experts we believe in forging powerful partnerships with our clients. Through this partnership FM Strategies will develop innovative facilities solutions that enable you to optimize your real estate investments, physical space and assets.

Providing successful business solutions requires a keen understanding of the dynamics of an organization as well as the expectations of those business units or individuals affected by these solutions. FM Strategies believes that the success of developing key information necessary for critical business decisions requires insightful development of targeted surveys, careful administration of the surveying process and data collection, reliable assessment of the validity and reliability of acquired data, and the qualified analysis of survey results.
FM Strategies can provide the following services in developing this key information:
Project Planning
Survey Methodology
Survey Development
Dissemination and Data Collection
Data Analysis
Reporting
Since its inception in 1993, the FM Strategies division of Little & Associates has worked with clients to provide planning and space management services spanning millions of square feet of office space, encompassing hundreds of program and business unit requirements, and including the management of a variety of project implementations.
The strength of our project management model comes from two key elements: the success of the initial project discovery phase, and the skills of a strong project manager. If the focus of the initial effort is on discovering not only the desired outcome of an integration effort or project, but also the challenges, underlying fears, and unwritten expectations, then applying sound project management practices should produce a successful outcome.
FM Strategies offers the following program integration and project management services:
